The people of Lesotho face a variety of difficult challenges. Yet grassroots communities in the country also exhibit tremendous resourcefulness and creativity. In particular, a wealth of artists has mastered a talent for resurrection, developing the skill to creatively turn negatives into positives: Designers who turn discarded trash into beautiful jewelry, clothes, rugs. Filmmakers who turn tragedy into artistic expressions of resilience and compassion. Musicians who write songs to save the environment

Things are not as simple as choosing paper or plastic.
To speak of Leyla is to speak of pure energy, of a disruptive approach to the great issues that sustainability seeks to respond to. Australian designer, invited in multiple programs in the media, provocative in her approach: she leaves no one indifferent and being able to listen to her live will be an exercise to rethink some things that (supposedly) we are used to being clear.
Moderated by: Alba Cabañas.

Session 1
How the resource revolution will build a better future.
The productivity of resources and the objectives of the circular economy are two powerful instruments to move towards a more efficient and decarbonized economic model.
The waste sector lives immersed in a paradigm shift and at the same time with the difficulties and contradictions inherent to managing huge waste streams in the linear economic model.
In this session we want to put the lights on and draw a scenario of changes and opportunities for the next decade.
Moderated by: Alba Cabañas.

Session 2
The Spanish Circular Economy Strategy, an instrument for changing the production model and relaunching the economy.
The EU and Spain are accelerating the transition towards decarbonizing the economy and promoting a cleaner industry aligned with climate goals.
The Spanish strategy can be a key instrument, provided that it is accompanied by the appropriate signals to the market, provides sufficient resources for the profound change in the economy and brings together all strategic economic sectors with special attention to medium and small companies.
What can we expect from the strategy and how can it help us change the model we know, which is not very efficient for the objectives we have?
Moderated by: Alba Cabañas.
Margarita Ruíz
Deputy director general of circular economy

Sustainability is the biggest business opportunity of the next decade.
Finance is a key instrument in the profound changes we are experiencing. The investment flows that will irrigate the companies will be important, but will be conditioned to the fulfillment of strategic objectives, ambitious plans and solid business models.
Will banking be receptive and allied to companies, will it play a proactive role accompanying companies or will it limit itself to channeling flows following known models that preserve margins rather than purposes with socio-economic value?
Moderated by: Alba Cabañas.

Digitization in the improvement of urban services: co-responsibility, control of services and quality control
Urban services (street cleaning and waste management) represent one of the highest budget items of a local entity and at the same time are key in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 and the guidelines and objectives set by the European directives on waste. The digitization of urban services is a tool that allows the achievement of these objectives through three main areas: the improvement of the efficiency and quality of the service, the identification of users and the implementation of payment systems for generation / participation, and finally it also becomes a mechanism for transparency and empowerment of citizens.

Aware of how thankful she should be for everything that the sea had given her, but largely unfamiliar with the medium where she had spent so many hours of her life, Garazi Sánchez decided to embark on a journey of self-learning. The result was the production of this documentary as part of her inner process. This project, which she devised during her convalescence from a serious injury, seeks answers through conversations with people who are experts in different fields. She asks them about something she is completely ignorant of: the current state of the oceans.

The Prato model, how to rethink the city from the circular economy and the importance of its textile hub.
With more than 2,000 companies in the textile sector, Prato has become the textile benchmark district in Europe and a supplier of the most important brands worldwide.
But the success of Prato is not explained only by the specialization of its economy, but by the set of policies to support innovation and the intervention of knowledge centers that make the city the benchmark cluster in the textile and capital sector world circular fashion.
Can this European city of 195,000 inhabitants be an inspiring and replicable model? Knowing the keys will help us find the answer.

The Amsterdam circular roadmap: innovation, new opportunities and job creation.
The Netherlands and Amsterdam base their economic and innovation model of excellence on the circular economy. And although that is the vision we know, Amsterdam has classic challenges and needs to which it seeks to respond from circularity with a new approach to known problems.
Organic matter or construction are two of the strategic sectors that have been analyzed by Cercle Economy and that we will share, to learn about the analyzes and strategies that the city has implemented.
