Digitization in the improvement of urban services: co-responsibility, control of services and quality control

Urban services (street cleaning and waste management) represent one of the highest budget items of a local entity and at the same time are key in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 and the guidelines and objectives set by the European directives on waste. The digitization of urban services is a tool that allows the achievement of these objectives through three main areas: the improvement of the efficiency and quality of the service, the identification of users and the implementation of payment systems for generation / participation, and finally it also becomes a mechanism for transparency and empowerment of citizens.

With more than 2,000 companies in the textile sector, Prato has become the textile benchmark district in Europe and a supplier of the most important brands worldwide.

But the success of Prato is not explained only by the specialization of its economy, but by the set of policies to support innovation and the intervention of knowledge centers that make the city the benchmark cluster in the textile and capital sector world circular fashion.

Can this European city of 195,000 inhabitants be an inspiring and replicable model? Knowing the keys will help us find the answer.
